POE Alumni

The Program of Excellence allows our athletes the opportunity to showcase and prepare for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, USPORTS, the Professional Canadian Women's Hockey League, as well as the Canada Women's national ice hockey team.

Karla Clarke - Vice President of Programs

Karla has been with the Nepean Girls Hockey Association for the past 7 years filling multiple roles in the association such as competitive coach, director and executive positions.

Karla is the board member currently responsible for the POE and will work closely with the General Manager and Staff.

Bruce MacDonald - General Manager

Bruce has coached the Jr. Wildcats since 2012, building on a wealth of experience gained while coaching elite women’s hockey. He was named PWHL Coach of the Year in 2013-2014 setting a PWHL record with 67 regular season points. Bruce has always wanted his young female athletes to be prepared for the next level of competition and more importantly become leaders in our community. Bruce recently retired from Coaching and is now enjoying the General Manager position with the Program of Excellence.

Bruce is the main contact for NCAA, USPORT and Hockey Canada scouts and will oversee all scouting opportunities within the POE. The GM will also be conducting player assessments throughout the season and will manage player selection and be involved in team formation.

The Assistant General Manager will assist the General Manager in all administrative activities within the Program of Excellence and will take part in communications with NCAA/USPORT and Hockey Canada Scouts to promote POE athletes.

Ken Evraire - Team Building, Leadership, Coaching

Ken graduated with a BA in Communications from Laurier University, played professional football in the Canadian Football League and spent 11 years as Sports Anchor/ Producer at The New RO and A-Channel.

Ken works directly with the Program of Excellence and focuses on leadership development with the athletes and coaching staff.

The Program of Excellence seeks to provide an elite program with high standards of commitment, leadership and skill development.

Wildcats U18

The Program of Excellence is to introduce players, families and staff to high performance hockey, the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence and the Provincial Women’s Hockey League

Wildcats U15

The Program of Excellence, is designed to expose participants to the demands of playing at an Elite level.

The NGHA is pleased to announce our first coach selection as part of the 2019-2020 Program of Excellence. Shannon Donnelly, former NGHA player, will be joining us to coach one of our Midget AA teams next season. Welcome home Shannon!
